Vaccinate Your Himalayan Siamese

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Himalayan Siamese like many other pets need to be vaccinated this prevents any future diseases your Himalayan Siamese may come into contact wit from any other animal. The cat species will acquire illnesses like feline leukemia, and even an illness similar to HIV that attacks the feline's immune system. Vaccinated pets are protected from these types of illnesses. This is an excellent way to guarantee your pet will build up the antibodies against these types of illness.

A vaccine schedule that is followed closely by the owner to insure all the vaccines are given and given at the proper age in the Himalayan Siamese kitten on to adulthood will protect your kitten. Owners may purchase the vaccines from the INTERNET or at a local pet suppler without a prescription. The owners can administer the vaccines to their own Himalayan Siamese at a lesser cost that having the veterinarian administer the vaccines to your pet.

The vaccines come in small vile s with the vaccines in them. Owners may have to transfer the medicine in the vile s from one vile to another to mix the vaccine. Simple directions on how to administer the vaccines are on the package the vaccines come in. The vaccine and a hypodermic syringe are in the package.

These vaccines come usually with three or more vaccines mixed in the one shot. This is much more convenient and less painful for your Himalayan Siamese. These way owners only have to give the pet one shot instead of three or more.

Shots include:
Feline Panleukopenia -feline distemper vaccine.
Viral Rhinotracheitis- also known as Feline Influenza or Feline Herpes Virus- is an upper respiratory infection your Himalayan Siamese will acquire if it comes into contact with another cat that has the virus and has not been vaccinated.

Calicivirus- causes pneumonia in cat with many other complications. All of these diseases are preventable with vaccines that you or your veterinarian administers to your Himalayan Siamese.

Feline Leukemia- a crippling debilitating disease in cats.Feline Infectious Peritonitis ( FIP)-incurable and fatal disease for the cat species.

Feline Chlamydia- attacks the cat cells and inflammation of the lungs.

Ringworm- three different types of microscopic a parasite that burrow and live under the skin of your Himalayan Siamese, forms a ringed area on the skin with no apparent hair.

The vaccine or vaccination schedule that owners should follow begins when your Himalayan Siamese is still young or a kitten. At the first 1 ½ months the kitten should be taken or given its first sets of vaccines in the following month when the kitten reaches 2 ½ months the next vaccines should be given to the kitten. This schedule follows the same for 3 ½ months, and 4 ½ months then when the kitten reaches the adulthood stage in life it may be given a set of booster for the vaccines once a year after the first booster.

Keeping your Neon Tetra healthy is the most effective way to make sure that your pet enjoys a long, productive life. There are many things that can cause disease in your Neons. Stress, bacteria, parasites, chemicals, and poor water conditions can all promote disease in your Neon Tetras. The best way that you can ensure that your pets enjoy good health is to make sure that you do everything you can to prevent disease in your pets.

The first thing that you can do to make sure that your pets have the best living conditions possible is to make sure that all the mechanical equipment is properly functioning each and every way. Check the filter systems and make sure that they are running smoothly. Check to make sure that there is a proper water flow. If you notice anything unusual, make sure that you take care of it right away. Improper water flow can cause the chemical balance in the water to be disturbed.

Make sure that you monitor the water temperature. A fluctuation in the water temperature of more than a few degrees can lead to serious health problems. If something is wrong with the temperature in your tank, make sure that you check the water heater.

Make sure that you are cleaning the tank on a regular basis. You need to make sure that you are doing at least a partial cleaning every week. A weekly vacuuming of the gravel in the bottom of the aquarium is usually enough to help keep the water clear. If necessary, make sure that you use an algae scraper in order to clean the site of the tank as well.

It is very important that you observe your fish daily. An ideal time to observe your fish would be when you feed them. Since you will be feeding your fish at least twice a day, this gives you numerous opportunities to see how your fish interact with each other and how they behave. This is also the ideal time to observe their eating habits and their appearance.
There are numerous symptoms for slimy skin disease. You will notice a gray colored slime on the body or fins. You will also notice scratching and frayed fins. You may also notice an excessive mucous coat. The cause for this disease is one of numerous species of parasites.
It is very important that you immediately isolate any fish that is showing the symptoms of slimy skin disease. This disease is highly contagious and can spread throughout your tank very quickly. Place any fish that is infected with this disease into your quarantine tank. You can treat this disease with a remedy of malachite green and frequent water changes. You can also try short term formalin and salt baths. You need to correct any poor water conditions in order to help fight this infection.
Remember that poor water conditions are often the cause of numerous skin conditions. By checking the water on a daily basis, you can avoid many problems with your fish.

The Temperament Of A Himalayan And A Siamese Cat

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

These two breeds of cats are similar in a way. Let's take a look at the Himalayan for a moment. The temperament of the Himalayan is said to be of sweetness and affection, and Himalayan cats make wonderful companions. In addition, the temperament of the Himalayan is a trait of the Persian breed that was mixed together many years ago.

Many Himalayan cats have a wonderful personality, and hold up that personality from kitten to adulthood. Be sure that your Himalayan cat greets the rest of the furry family when bringing your Himalayan home. Alternatively, your furry feline will become temperamental when around other animals. So be sure that all other animals, as well as family members are properly introduced to one another.

Small children need to learn how to hold a Himalayan cat. Because if the cat feels it will fall, then the cat could become scared and start to struggle to get away. This could result in the scratching of the child by the frightened cat. Never let a child poke at the Himalayan cats' eyes, or pull the Himalayans Siamese fur. A child having done this does not know any better and the cat may become temperamental.

Most Himalayans love to pampering, as well as sit in your lap for a good nap. Himalayans love attention, also Himalayans are known for being very laid back animals. Himalayan owners need to let their furry cats know that they are there, as the Himalayan Siamese will do the same. Owning a Himalayan Siamese is a beautiful relationship to watch unfold between animal and human. You're bound to be swept off your feet by the Himalayans sweet adorable face, when you lay your eyes on one of these adorable Himalayan Siamese cats.

A mother's milk is good for your baby kitten, for this is what the kitten will live off until the mother Himalayan cat weans them. You should never take a kitten away from their mother at an early age; this will cause your Himalayan Siamese to be unsociable with other animals and people.

The Siamese on the other hand processes a different level of temperament. For example, the Siamese cat is a very intelligent animal that enjoys human companionship. It does not matter to a Siamese if they are laying in your lap or playing with a toy. The Siamese cat will be comfortable either way. The Siamese cat is a very loving animal, one way or the other a Siamese cat will steal your heart.

The Siamese cats are very curious animals, and will get into everything that you are in, the reason a Siamese will do this, is they want to know what you are doing at all times of the day. The Siamese cat is looking for all of the attention it can possible get from a human. These are some of the temperaments of a Himalayan cat and a Siamese cat, to learn more about the temperament of these two cats you can search many sites offered all over the Internet.
